NeatTools (an open-source project I work on) is finally (thanks to me) getting some documentation and media, out there on the web.  It’s early days yet, but there is a new wiki and a YouTube Channel both with growing amounts of information.  Here’s the first video to get you started:

Jeff’s Blog and Stereo Photography

by Paul on Jan.17, 2009, under Alternative Energy, Camera, Video

I ran across this fellow’s BLOG the other day: www.berezin.com/jeff/ Jeff appears to be engaged in several worthwhile and interesting pursuits, including camera modifications and Savonius wind turbines. This is the sort of entrepreneurial  spirit this country needs now!

Jeff is using NeatTools (www.neattools.org) and the TNG-3B data interface from SenSyr, LLC (www.sensyr.com) as part of his wind turbine work.

Equally neat, Jeff also is involved with Berezin Stereo Photography Products (www.berezin.com/3d/). If you’re into stereo imaging and 3D rendering, you should also visit this site: make3d.stanford.edu They will convert your photograph to a 3D model.

Jeff was also involved in a Circuit Cellar contest project that received an honorable mention, Virtual Bicycle. See the YouTube video:

NeatTools Graphical Programming Software

by Paul on Jan.16, 2009, under Sensors, software

Here’s something neat. It even has “neat” in its name: NeatTools (www.neattools.org). This is free software, a graphical programming language that allows you to manipulate inputs and outputs from your Windows-based computer. NeatTools seems a little dated, but it looks like it works OK under XP and Vista. It may well be on its way to improvement. Evidently, the creators have recently decided to make NeatTools open-source (http://sourceforge.net/projects/neattools). Another company, SenSyr (www.sensyr.com) makes a data interface supported by NeatTools

Anyway, it looks as if these folks are striving for progress.
